Olympian Visit! We welcomed an Olympic gold medallist into our school last week. Giovani Infantino raced in the 200m for Italy and the 4x100m relay team and he came in to share his journey to becoming an elite sportsperson; his lifestyle, his decisions and the effect on his achievements. He then led each class through a short workout based around the skills he developed through his sport. Overall, a fantastic experience and we hope to welcome some more next year!

Disgusting Digestion- Year 4 created their own poo in an attempt to demonstrate how the digestive system works. Disgusting and intriguing in equal measure, the children had so much fun and understand one of the most crucial systems of our body!

Festival of Lights- Some children from our school were chosen to create some lanterns in school to form a part of the festival of lights parade. Overall, 60 children created the lanterns and several families attended the event. Alongside other schools in the community, they took part in the parade around Southall and represented our school fantastically; with the best turnout coming from our school. Thank you to all parents who attended and we look forward to another Christmas themed parade in December!

Badminton Festival! Students from Year 4&5 took part in a badminton festival at Southall Sports Club- looking at promoting the sport and focusing on key skills development. As always, the children represented the school with pride and respect and thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Well done to all who took part!

Wiggle Buggy Fun

On Tuesday 19th October, some children from year 5&6 took part in a Ten Pin Bowling competition which had over 20 teams from a number of schools in the borough. The children demonstrated great teamwork, competitive spirit and supportiveness and were an absolute credit to the school; taking the overall 1st Place prize and adding a glittering trophy to our collection. May this be the beginning of many more!

Students: Year 5- Marwin, Jonathan, Kaden. Year 6- Makari, Kaiden, Chrizeny.

Southall Park Play - Family Invovement

Southall Park Play

Here are some photos from St Anselm's first attendance at Park Play on the 18th September. It was lovely to see both children and parents alike taking part in some fun sports-based activities and promoting the healthy lifestyles we strive for every child in the school.

A huge thanks to Park Play for leading this new (and completely FREE) initiative and for Southall FC football club for assisting in the running of sessions. If any other children would like to get involved in this fantastic opportunity, please visit the website link below and register for the sessions every Saturday from 10-11.

We hope to see you soon!

Thank you to Mr Jennings for introducing this wonderful project to our school.  It really is wonderful to see the children together with their families.

Year 6 - Residential Trip to Sayers Croft

Monday 12th July

The children were so excited this morning as they set off to Sayers Croft. The parents waved them goodbye and in no time they arrived safely at Sayers Croft.

Once the children had unpacked they were given a safety talk before they went into the afternoon's activities.  The exercises kept them all busy and by the end of the first session, they were exhausted. Year 6 children were so hungry by lunchtime (as well as the staff) but once they ate and refreshed themselves they couldn't wait to get back and have fun.  The staff have been so impressed with the way the children have engaged with the activities and enjoyed themselves.

Please look up for more updates!
